As a proud supporter of the non-profit organization “Promise,” Canvas4aCause was thrilled to be able to facilitate the creation of an art project that was meaningful and exciting to at-risk kids from underserved communities. The idea to build an outdoor library in the shape of a pirate ship was one that the kids were particularly passionate about, and with the help of local businesses Shades Brewing and Sugar Post Metal Works, that dream became a reality.

Shades Brewing generously donated a metal barrel, which was typically used to deliver fruit for their award-winning sour beers, to be repurposed for the pirate ship library project. Sugar Post Metal Works provided their welding and design expertise to help bring the kids’ ideas to life. The kids also played a crucial role in the project, coming up with the initial ideas and designs for the pirate ship library.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, the pirate ship library was successfully installed at the Columbus center, and it is now available for all to enjoy. The library is stocked with free books, making it a valuable resource for the community. We are so proud to have been able to support “Promise” in this project, and we hope that it will inspire other organizations to work together to make a positive impact in their communities.
